Chris’s experience in private equity spans nearly two decades, multiple industries and substantially all facets of investing, including origination, execution and portfolio management. Prior to co-founding Mill Rock, Chris was a Managing Director at Harvest Partners, where he worked from 1999, focusing on middle market private equity investments. Previously, he worked at Lehman Brothers in its Global Mergers and Acquisitions Group. His primary experience is in the industrial sector, including specialty manufacturing, distribution, industrial services, transportation and logistics, chemicals and packaging, metals and energy. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

He is primarily responsible for the group’s investment activity in the Business and Industrial Services sector.  Rob currently serves on the board of directors for American Safety Council and Worldwide Express (which merged with Unishippers Global Logistics) and previously served on the boards of Transportation Insight, Nolan Transportation Group (NTG), The Cook and Boardman Group, Aurora Parts & Accessories, and J.A.M. Distributing Group.

 

Prior to joining the group in 1997, Rob was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co., Inc., where he advised clients in the transportation, financial services, telecommunications, and manufacturing industries.  Previously, he was a vice president at Allied Capital (now part of Ares Capital), and an investment banker at Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co. (now part of Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking).

 

Rob earned an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with Highest Distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Mark has sourced five Clarendon investments, and those that have been divested have produced a combined IRR over 35%.

Mark conceived RoadLink, an intermodal logistics consolidation vehicle, as Clarendon’s first investment and worked with his Clarendon partners to organize and co-found the company in 2000. Following RoadLink’s formation, he guided the investment as a RoadLink board member and shareholder representative and served as CFO/SVP Finance & Acquisitions, Secretary/Treasurer and Chief Strategy Officer during his tenure. Following a successful sale to a leading private equity firm in 2006, Mark continued in senior finance, M&A and strategic development roles, helping grow RoadLink to over $400 million in revenue. Over the course of his decade of RoadLink involvement, Mark executed over 25 acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and debt/equity financings comprising over $350 million of transaction value.

Before launching Clarendon, Mark was a senior manager in the Transportation Management Consulting Practice of A.T. Kearney, where he led engagements in strategic development, M&A and profit improvement for transportation and private equity clients. Prior to A.T. Kearney, Mark was part of the team that launched Princeton Transportation Consulting (later sold to Manhattan Associates), where he led engagements applying university research from Princeton and M.I.T. to improve the profitability of transportation clients.

Mark received an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar. He received a BS in Operations Research and BA in Economics from Cornell University where he graduated with highest honors. Mark serves as Vice Chairman of the national board of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation, which empowers children of low-income communities across the U.S. to achieve a college education.

Prior to founding Headhaul Capital, Mr. Wilson was a Partner and Managing Director of Jefferies Capital Partners LLC and its predecessors where he worked for 20 years since its founding in 1994.  Mr. Wilson headed the Transportation & Logistics investing practice for Jefferies Capital Partners and was a member of the Investment Committee.  From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Wilson was employed in the Investment Banking Division of Furman Selz LLC.  Mr. Wilson is the Chairman of the Board of OL International Holdings LLC (an international freight forwarding company), the Chairman of the Board of ACS Logistics Holdings LLC (a niche, non-asset based third-party logistics (3PL) firm that provides highly-customized logistics solutions to the healthcare, financial services, technology and home delivery industries), the Chairman of the Board of DSI Logistics Holdings LLC (a non-asset based logistics firm focused on last mile home delivery of heavy goods) and the Vice Chairman of Great Western Leasing and Sales LLC (a specialty trailer leasing company).  Mr. Wilson has previously served on the boards of directors of Arnold Transportation Services, Inc. (a leading regional truckload carrier), Aurora Trailer Holdings LLC (the leading aftermarket trailer parts distribution company), Epic Gas Ltd. (a leading owner and operator of fully pressurized gas carriers providing seaborne transportation services for liquefied petroleum gases), K-Sea Transportation LLC (the leading coastwise transporter of refined petroleum products utilizing a fleet of tank barges), IDB Carriers (BVI) Ltd. (the predecessor to Pacific Basin Shipping Ltd. one of the leading international maritime dry bulk shipping companies), and R&R Trucking Holdings, LLC (the leading niche transportation company involved in the movement of arms, ammunition, commercial explosives and other hazardous materials).  Mr. Wilson received an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Under Ron’s leadership Red Classic grew to become a top 100 dedicated carrier, a top 100 commercial carrier and named twice named the Best place to work in 2015 & 2016. Ron was name CEO of the year in 2016 for the Charlotte area.

Prior to Red Classic, Ron served as Chief Operating Officer for The CrossGlobe Group. In this role Ron
led sales and operations for their warehousing, truckload, Intermodal, distribution and transportation services. Prior to joining CrossGlobe Ron was the Chief Operating Officer for Bridge Terminal Transport at Top 50 for hire carrier with 45 locations across North America and + 3500 contracted truck drivers.

Ron has over twenty years of executive leadership experience in international & domestic
transportation, logistics, supply chain, warehousing distribution.
Ron received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences at Wilkes University and completed executive leadership certifications at Harvard Business School and Business Development Studies at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) located in Switzerland.
